I started this site to keep a record of the progress of my new silkie chickens. I live in western PA and started my backyard flock with a few ameraucana hens, a black silkie rooster and a very agressive golden sebright who thinks he is the alfa rooster- even though he is the smallest chicken in the coop. My husband was fine with me getting them and even built the first coop. Now he thinks I'm crazy. I'm getting ready to put in the second coop to house the silkies.
